چکیده

This study investigates changes in population density 454 block groups within a one-mile buffer around rail transit stations (the area) the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metropolitan area. The research uses three analysis approaches to explore correlation between proximity and changes. Changes 2000 2014 are calculated. area compared remainder of four counties served by same systems. An innovative approach is employed select best regression model using data A relationship independent variables formulated. nearby highway ramps or city centers also investigated during period. Results show that it has positive impact on density. located beyond buffer, especially toward outlying areas, greater than those buffer. Unexpectedly, found an increase percentage white residents leads Other interesting results number jobs inverse proportion However, developed as part transit-oriented development (TOD) dramatically higher other groups. These represent beneficial contribution field urban planning. Urban planners policymakers can use findings adopt specific policies for increasing density, advancing systems’ success, usage, sustaining station development.

Normal Polarity Severe Thunderstorms Dominated by Negative Cg Lightning in the Dallas-fort worth Area

BACKGROUND Since the U.S. National Lightning Detection Network (NLDN) became fully operational in 1989, meteorologists have spent considerable time trying to identify cloud-to-ground (CG) lightning characteristics that are uniquely associated with severe weather. Many studies focused on the dominant CG lightning polarity as a potential indicator of severe weather. Knapp (1994) found that 39% of...

Experiences with a Simplified Microsimulation for the Dallas/fort-worth Area

In recent time, tra c demand in metropolitan areas has largely exceeded capacity. Typical remedies such as the expansion of the road way system or road improvement do not work well anymore for various reasons: on the one hand communities cannot a ord the increased costs of road construction, on the other hand there are political and environmental objections. Therefore, computer simulation as a ...

Experiences with a Simpliied Microsimulation for the Dallas/fort worth Area

We describe a simple framework for micro simulation of city traac. A medium sized excerpt of Dallas was used to examine diierent levels of simulation delity of a cellular automaton method for the traac ow simulation and a simple intersection model. We point out problems arising with the granular structure of the underlying rules of motion.
